To recover a debt, you need to know what your target really owns
Asset Due Diligence is an essential tool for those who, in legal practice or risk management, need to understand whether, where and how much a party owns – or has owned – and whether they have implemented strategies to shield their assets from obligations or liabilities. This service is designed for lawyers, advisors and clients involved in complex debt recovery, enforcement actions, civil cases, bankruptcy proceedings or litigation over fraudulent asset transfers.
Global Risk Intelligence supports law firms, insolvency practitioners, creditors and injured parties with thoroughly documented, actionable asset investigations. We systematically analyse the declared and hidden assets of a party – an individual or a legal entity – reconstructing the composition of their holdings, how they have evolved over time and any suspicious transactions that have altered or concealed the actual value held.
Our approach combines official sources (public registers, corporate records, land registry data, financial statements, powers of attorney, notarial deeds) with information obtained through investigative activities, advanced OSINT and human intelligence, including in international contexts. When necessary, we engage partners on the ground to identify assets held abroad, trusts, fictitious ownership arrangements or opaque transfers between connected parties.
What we reconstruct
- Real estate holdings (in Italy and abroad)
- Company shareholdings and business assets
- Bank accounts, transactions and ascertainable funds
- Vehicles, boats, aircraft
- Interests in trusts, foundations and foreign vehicles
- Asset disposals (gifts, sales, transfers to third parties)
- Fictitious intermediaries or accommodating family members
- Anomalous transactions before a composition with creditors or insolvency

Case Study: Asset Due Diligence
A law firm engaged us to verify the asset position of a former director involved in fraudulent bankruptcy. Official registry searches came back empty. Our investigation identified a network of connected companies, two properties registered in the names of accommodating third parties and an anomalous transfer of assets to a foreign fiduciary company a few months before the bankruptcy. The evidence collected led to a precautionary seizure and the commencement of an avoidance action.
